About this course

The Degree in Business from Arden University, can be done with LOC Level 4/ Level 5. The Undergraduate Level 4/5 Extended Diploma in Management maintain the 240 credit course intended to quick track the students of the last year that related to completed the Undergraduate degree in Business and Management, which will be completed at a Arden University.

The Level 4 modules and assignments of this course are proportional to the main year of a University Degree and the Level 5 modules and assignments are equal to the second year of a University Degree. This course is comprised of 10 Level 4 modules (120 credits) and 10 level 5 modules (120 credits), each level likewise incorporates 8 composed assignments. If the Students chooses to just examination at Level 4 they will get 120 credits and can apply for an exception from the main year of a University Degree course.

Every module comprises of around 40 guided learning hours of material with an extra 30-50 hours of discretionary learning material. These materials contain suggested works out, prescribed readings and web assets.

The Level 4 Fees is £4000 and Level 5 Fees is £4000.00. The tuition fees for the 2020/21 academic year for Arden University is £7750 for Top up Level 6 paid directly to University. The fees is subject to change every academic year.

  • To enrol onto the Level 4 course, you must be at least 18 and have a full secondary education. Before enroling onto the Level 5 course, you must have attained a Level 4 or equivalent.

    Exploring and using the marketing mix as part of the business planning process.

    Strategic HRM

    Managing Ethically

    Explore the various theories and models of management and their different contexts.

    Culture and the Organisation

    What is meant by culture? Why is it important? How does it differ between organisations?

    Customers and Customer Service

    This module looks at customers as the fulcrum of any business.

    Fundamentals of Accounting

    On completion of this module, learners will understand accounts and how they can be used to give insight into the health of the organisation.

    Financial Management and Control

    In this module, learners will compare and contrast some examples of good and bad financial decision making and the impact on the business.

Practical Accounting Analysis

Learners will complete exercises in accounts throughout this module to understand what they are telling us and the actions that analysis can precipitate.

Business Planning and Goal Setting

What is the business trying to achieve? What will it do? How will it do it? This module focuses on the creation of clear goals and clear plans to achieve a clear objective.

Politics and Business

Impact of politics on business and how it may help or hinder business. This module will educate learners on economic impact, exports and government support.

Business Law

Explore the statutory responsibilities of managers as learners look into the legalities of business and business executives.

Managing in Today’s World

Business in the modern world. This module focuses on governance and equality as a means to do right in business.

Performance Management

Understanding how your people and your business can continually improve together, learners will review reward structures, CPD, training and development to ensure high performance in business.

Marketing and Sales Planning

Learners will analyse how markets, customers, competitors and products can come together in a cohesive plan.

Quantitative Skills

On successful completion of this module, learners will have knowledge of numeric exercises and will understand their use within the context of the business.

If you have previously completed a HND in Business (or equivalent) then this Top- Up will enable you to achieve a full undergraduate honours degree in Business in one year.  If you want a seat at the board room table or to run your own business, take this business Top-Up to get to grips with broad business practices.

Here, you’ll explore how to design that map, by applying a range of theories and techniques and build a strategy. How do international companies work with teams all over the world? You’re about to find out. Delving into cultural differences and how to motivate far flung teams, you’ll find the most effective tech and techniques to manage and work with people in different countries.

Research Methods and Dissertation

We’ll help you every step of the way with your dissertation. Starting by deciding what topic you want to research and how you’re going to approach it, next you’ll be gathering your own data and analysing it alongside books and other resources. Eventually, you’ll bring it all together in a dissertation and presentation, by which time you’ll be quite the expert!

Course duration and hours of study 

This Top-Up is taught in one year. Your course will be delivered through a blend of online and face-to face teaching, compressing the number of days you need to be at the study center.

Entry requirements 

To be eligible for this course you must have: A HND in Business or equivalent, provided that your prior learning is consistent with Level 5 of the functional areas of business (Finance, Marketing, HRM and Operations Management). The LOC ATHE progression certificates of Level 4/5 is an route.

Successful completion of the full Level 4/5 Extended Diploma in Management and final year of an accredited Undergraduate Degree programme will give students the right credentials to go on and apply for a job in marketing, accounting, human resources, management or business consultancy.  A business management degree prepares you for a career in business, which can apply to any sector or industry. Try to decide on the area you want to work in and aim to get relevant work experience. Industries as diverse as chemicals, utilities, fashion, health, grocery and construction all require functional managers with a clear understanding of systems, efficiency and operational issues. Opportunities exist in management and analysis roles with employers in the private, public and voluntary sectors. Graduate training schemes offered by large employers frequently focus on commercial roles.
